It is with great pleasure that I present to you the latest edition of The Issue, a magazine series dedicated to addressing the most pressing social, economic, and developmental challenges that impact the Global South. Our focus is on the issues that truly matter—issues that affect the daily lives and futures of millions.
In this edition, we turn our attention to water—an essential resource that sustains life across the globe. Shockingly, according to the 2023 Africa Sustainable Development Report, 411 million Africans still lack access to safe water, while nearly three-fourths of the population does not benefit from safely managed sanitation services (United Nations Development Programme, 2023).
At Orbit 22 Publications, we believe in using our platform to shine a light on these critical matters and advocate for lasting change. It is imperative that we, as a global community, create policies and strategies that prioritize the needs of people in the Global South and the least developed countries. Access to knowledge and resources can empower communities to craft meaningful solutions that will shape a better future for all.
Let us come together to support the 410 million people across Africa who are still without access to clean, reliable water.
